Demand for information security professionals is increasing due to the need to create innovative solutions to prevent hackers from stealing, changing or destroying information and technology infrastructures. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment of information security professionals is projected to grow 32% from 2022 to 2032; the median annual wage for an information security analyst in 2023 was $120,360 ($57.87 an hour). There is a significant shortage of cybersecurity professionals around the globe, and ISC2 research states that about 500,000 of the three million positions are located in North America.
Graduates can expect to achieve careers in cybersecurity analysis, cloud security engineering, security architecture, and red or blue team ethical hacker teams.
