Prepare for a career as a globally informed citizen, having completed an immersive, international experience that shapes your understanding of Russia's past, present and future, and its intersections with other nations and industries across the world.
The BA program in Russian explores Russia's language, literature, history and more. As part of a small community of program participants with the resources of a large university, students gain intermediate to advanced reading, writing and speaking skills in Russian. They also study Russian civilization, pop culture, protest and propaganda, and classical Russian works.
Students are encouraged to participate in a Russian language and translation ASU exchange program for a semester or year in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Kazan. They have the option to complete two years of Russian in one year, or four years in two years, at ASU's Critical Language Institute, which provides tuition-free intensive summer immersion and study abroad scholarships.
The program partners with the Melikian Center for Russian, Eurasian and East European Studies to offer a certificate in agribusiness, anthropology, architecture, economics, geography, history, political science, religious studies, Russian, sociology or women's studies.

3 year programs
These programs allow students to fast-track their studies after admission and earn a bachelor's degree in three years or fewer while participating in the same high-quality educational experience of a 4-year option. Students should talk to their academic advisor to get started.
Accelerated master's
These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).
