The minor in military leadership requires a minimum of 18 credit hours, 12 of which must be upper division (numbered from 300 to 499). Twelve credit hours must be taken in residence at ASU. Each course must be completed with a grade of "C" (2.00 on a 4.00 scale) or higher.
The branch-specific option for Army requires 12 credit hours specific to the option and six credit hours from the Approved Electives list. Select three courses from the following four options: MIS 301 Training Management and the Warfighting Functions MIS 302 Applied Leadership in Small-Unit Operations MIS 401 The Army Officer MIS 402 Company Grade Leadership Choose two additional courses from the Approved Electives list. Army option students are advised to select one elective from subject codes ACO, CEL, or SSP. OR The branch-specific option for Air Force requires 12 credit hours specific to the option and six credit hours from the Approved Electives list. Complete the following courses: AES 301 Leading People and Effective Communication I AES 303 Leading People and Effective Communication II AES 401 National Security, Leadership Responsibilities and Commissioning Preparation I AES 403 National Security, Leadership Responsibilities and Commissioning Preparation II Choose two additional courses from the Approved Electives list. Courses can only satisfy one requirement. No course used toward the branch-specific courses or the core courses for the non-ROTC option can be repeated as an elective. Marine and Non-ROTC students must take at least three credit hours of upper-division approved electives.
