Students must select 9 credit hours of technical electives from these prefixes based on their professional or career interests. Students are encouraged to use their technical electives coherently, e.g., to improve their data, analytics, computing, or modeling capabilities or to learn about a technical field in which they are interested in working. Students are encouraged to discuss their elective plans with the program director or a faculty advisor in the program. Students cannot use the same course to satisfy both technical elective and upper division related area elective credit. The following courses do not count toward this requirement: CIS 105, MAT 106, MAT 110, MAT 114, MAT 117, MAT 119, MAT 142, MAT 170, and MAT 171.
