The certificate in Jewish studies requires a minimum of 21 credit hours in approved coursework. At least 12 upper-division credit hours are required. At least six upper-division credit hours must be in courses offered by The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. When selecting courses, the college offering the course can be identified by viewing the course details in Class Search. A minimum grade of "C" (2.00 on a 4.00 scale) is required in each course used toward the certificate. |

HEB 101 Elementary Modern Hebrew I and Israeli Culture
(GCSI)
AND
HEB 102 Elementary Modern Hebrew II and Israeli Culture (GCSI) Students must complete two semesters of the same language. Credit hours will vary depending on the language chosen. Students already proficient in one of these languages may take a proficiency exam and substitute six credit hours of additional coursework selected from the list of approved Jewish studies electives.
