In 1998, the W. P. Carey School of Business collaborated with Motorola to establish a customized MBA program in Beijing, China with a curriculum focusing on high-tech management. As such, the program plays a pivotal role for Motorola to excel in management localization, market penetration, and talent retention for its China operations. China is a dynamic and evolving global economic and political power that must be part of the plan for any business school with global aspirations. The W. P. Carey School of Business has a set of relationships that have evolved over the last decade that have already yielded significant results for the school, ASU, and its partners in both U.S. and China.

The Beijing Program is designed to be a world-class executive MBA program with a concentration on financial management. It consists of 12 courses (48 semester hours) and is designed to leverage a participants' existing strengths in financial management and institutional knowledge in the financial services sector. Thus, the curriculum has a strong institutional focus on this sector and at the same time provides intensive knowledge on managerial decision-making and strategic formulation.

Accordingly, the curriculum is designed with a strong interdisciplinary focus, while achieving cycle time efficiency. Each course is delivered in an intensive manner over two consecutive weekends with four full days of face-to-face instruction. The curriculum is supplemented by online instruction materials that enable interaction between faculty and students.

What are accelerated programs?
Accelerated programs allow students the opportunity to expedite the completion of their degree.

Accelerated master's

These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).

Each program has requirements students must meet to be eligible for consideration. Students typically receive approval to pursue the accelerated master’s during the junior year of their bachelor's degree program. Interested students can learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply.
What are concurrent programs?
Concurrent degrees allow students to pursue their own personal or professional interests, earn two distinct degrees and receive two diplomas. To add a concurrent degree to your existing degree, work with your academic advisor.
What are joint programs?
Joint programs, or jointly conferred degrees, are offered by more than one college and provide opportunities for students to take advantage of the academic strengths of two academic units. Upon graduation, students are awarded one degree and one diploma conferred by two colleges.
