The Master of Education program in global education prepares professionals working in the field of international and comparative education to identify, analyze and address contemporary problems that cross borders, cultures and disciplines in a variety of educational settings.
This program is directed at individuals currently working in or interested in international education, especially those charged with the administration, planning and evaluation of educational programs and policies. Students gain a deeper understanding of the complex and dynamic relationship between global and local perspectives, develop practical solutions for key challenges, and experience working collaboratively across disciplines.

Applicants must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
Applicants must have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in global education, comparative education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in the last 60 hours of their first bachelor's degree program or a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in an applicable master's degree program.
Applicants are required to submit:

- three letters of recommendation
- personal statement
- professional resume
- proof of English proficiency
Additional Application Information
An applicant whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency regardless of their current residency.
Applicants must complete a personal statement that describes their background, including the personal, educational and professional experiences that led them to apply to this program. Applicants should follow the specific prompt found in the application.

Program learning outcomes identify what a student will learn or be able to do upon completion of their program. This program has the following program outcomes:
- Evaluate global education problems and practices using comparative frameworks.
- Analyze comparative and international research literature to address contemporary educational problems across borders, cultures, and disciplines.
- Design a participatory and inclusive action research project to address a global issue in education.
Graduates have the skills needed for leading and continually improving the education sector. They are equipped with the research and analysis skills to gather evidence to inform, design and improve practices in order to strengthen systems that provide quality education for diverse populations. They are well prepared to expand or pursue a variety of careers in international education.

3 year programs
These programs allow students to fast-track their studies after admission and earn a bachelor's degree in three years or fewer while participating in the same high-quality educational experience of a 4-year option. Students should talk to their academic advisor to get started.
Accelerated master's
These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).
Each program has requirements students must meet to be eligible for consideration. Acceptance to the graduate program requires a separate application.
