Current ASU undergraduate students may pursue a minor and have it recognized on their ASU transcript at graduation. Minor requirements appear on the degree audit once the minor is added. Certain major and minor combinations may be deemed inappropriate by the college or department of either the major program or the minor. Courses taken for the minor may not count toward both the major and minor.
Study abroad can prepare a future professional in the arts not only with cultural experiences but also with professional skills like collaboration and problem-solving. Global Education programs provide an opportunity for students to explore their creative side with an intercultural lens, encouraging them to build communication skills and challenging them, as artists, to think differently.
With over 300 options available, Global Education programs give students a breadth of knowledge in arts and culture distinctly different from their own. Whether in a foreign country, in the U.S. or online, students learn to adapt and persevere through a program that provides them with a chance to look inside themselves in a way they haven't done before, growing their self-confidence along the way.
Minor programs enable students to develop additional competencies that complement the marketable knowledge and skills they acquire in their majors. A minor in costume design and technology can help graduates as they pursue careers in teaching, pattern making, costume design, shop management, and aging and dyeing costumes; positions such as first hand and set dresser; and entrepreneurship opportunities.
