Program learning outcomes identify what a student will learn or be able to do upon completion of their program. This program has the following program outcomes:
- Implement effective management approaches to improve processes to positively impact patients and populations.
- Analyze how policy and economics influence professional health service delivery
Graduates who have obtained the certificate in health care policy and delivery may be more marketable for employment opportunities and better prepared to enter postgraduate degree programs. The program is particularly relevant for future medical practitioners who intend to serve in a private practice because it broadens their understanding of the business side of U.S. health care systems. Entry-level opportunities in the field include program or clinical administration, advocacy and quality improvement. Advanced degrees or certifications may be required for academic or clinical positions.
