Broaden your opportunities and acquire an edge in a health-related career by deepening your understanding of clinical medicine and other health professions.
The minor program in medical studies focuses on preparing students for employment in health care and clinical medicine, including in direct and indirect patient care.
Students take coursework in:
- applied medical and health care ethics
- historical aspects of medicine
- leadership and professionalism
Students have the option of enhancing the application of core concepts through completion of an internship. This minor does not replace pre-med academic preparation for those who plan to apply to medical school.

Current ASU undergraduate students may pursue a minor and have it recognized on their ASU transcript at graduation. Minor requirements appear on the degree audit after the minor is added. Certain major and minor combinations may be deemed inappropriate by the college or department of either the major or the minor program. Courses taken for the minor may not count toward both the major and the minor.
Students who complete this minor acquire valuable skills in health care that can be implemented in a variety of career settings. Some career opportunities include project coordination, marketing, sales and research.

Accelerated master's
These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).
