Do you want to lead meaningful change in your community and the world? You'll develop leadership, fundraising and program management skills that prepare you to guide nonprofit organizations and address today's most pressing social issues.
The Bachelor of Science program in nonprofit leadership and management prepares you to lead mission-driven organizations and address complex community and social challenges. You learn leadership, program development, fundraising and financial management skills while exploring how nonprofits create positive change in society.
Coursework integrates classroom learning with applied field experiences, including an internship that builds professional skills in organizational strategy, volunteer coordination and ethical leadership.
You may also pursue the Certified Nonprofit Professional credential through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (https://nla1.org/cnp-professionals), enhancing your preparation for leadership across the social sector. This degree is accredited by the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council (https://www.nonprofit-academic-centers-council.org).

This program allows students to obtain both a bachelor's and a master's degree in as little as five years. Accelerated bachelor's plus master's degree programs are designed for high-achieving students who want the opportunity to share undergraduate coursework with graduate coursework to accelerate completion of their master's degree. These programs feature the same high quality curriculum taught by ASU's world-renowned faculty.

Program learning outcomes identify what a student will learn or be able to do upon completion of their program. This program’s learning outcomes include the following:
- Incorporate multiple perspectives when proposing creative solutions to complex NLM issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in written communications with diverse audiences (e.g. clients, interdisciplinary team members, donors, community members).
- Integrate knowledge from diverse disciplines to develop comprehensive strategies that address the complex challenges faced by nonprofit organizations.
Studying abroad can provide students with hands-on experience in nonprofit leadership through a global lens. Students gain skills to be used in their future careers through internships in nonprofits around the world. Students have the opportunity to intern abroad during summer break or during a semester while taking courses in locations such as South America and Asia.
Graduates are prepared for leadership and management roles across the growing nonprofit sector, which employs millions of professionals in organizations of all sizes and missions. They work in community-based nonprofits, foundations and national organizations that address issues in health, education, human services, the arts and the environment.
Prominent employers include the American Red Cross, America's Second Harvest, the Humane Society of the United States, March of Dimes, National Urban League and United Way, as well as youth-serving organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Clubs, Girl Scouts of the USA, and YMCA of the USA.

Program term definitions
Accelerated programs allow students the opportunity to expedite the completion of their degree.
Accelerated master's
These programs allow students to accelerate their studies to earn a bachelor's plus a master's degree in as few as five years (for some programs).
Each program has requirements students must meet to be eligible for consideration. Students typically receive approval to pursue the accelerated master's during the junior year of their bachelor's degree program. Interested students can learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply.
Concurrent degrees allow students to pursue their own personal or professional interests, earn two distinct degrees and receive two diplomas. To add a concurrent degree to your existing degree, work with your academic advisor.
Joint programs, or jointly conferred degrees, are offered by more than one college and provide opportunities for students to take advantage of the academic strengths of two academic units. Upon graduation, students are awarded one degree and one diploma conferred by two colleges.
